In the past weeks, a small team, primarily comprised of students from Wageningen's Agricultural University, has been working to create a support mechanism that facilitates more agroforestry planting on the lands of smallholder farmers.
PlantingOnDemand aims to transform the tree-planting world with the following approach:
- Individuals and organizations can sign up to become either free or paid members.
- For every paying member, PlantingOnDemand will plant 25 trees per month.
- Planting sessions are conducted live.
- Members can interact with planters via Zoom calls.
- The planting partners receive a fixed 90% of the subscription fees.
- By focusing on food-producing trees, the monitoring plan is inherently built-in.
- Planting on Demand works with partners in the most fair and transparent manner.
Said Katensi, secretary of Friends of Lake Tanganyika, invites you to the first live planting session of 1,000 trees on October 10th, 2024.
The materials from the live session will be used to promote further live plantings, and our media team will collaborate with the sponsor to maximize positive outreach.
